Until recently, producing a high quality facsimile edition of the Atlas Blaeu-van der Hem or any other atlas was almost impossible because of the technical difficulties. Because we did make use of the latest techniques and because we did not make compromises concerning details, this facsimile can and may not be compared with any earlier published facsimile atlases.
Close collaboration with the Austrian National Library and specialists in the field of lithography, printing, binding, marketing and historical cartography has resulted in this splendid series of books that combines and represents the best of the 17th and the 21st century.
